 THE NOMINATION, SCREENING/CONFIRMATION OF TC CHAIRMEN OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS AND WARD COUNCILORS, JUNE 20, 2024

The Soludo Government has once again, demonstrated her total commitment to deepening democratic values and good governance at the grassroots, by successfully completing the process of democratically putting in place a vibrant and visionary personnel across the 21 Local Governments and 327 Wards in the State.

I, therefore passionately recognise the importance of governance at the Local Government level because; a vibrant and effective local government system will ensure a government of inclusion where everybody has a voice. Today, the Solution agenda has completed the chain of government by linking the Wards and Council areas to the State Government.

I congratulate all the newly confirmed T.C Chairmen and Ward Councilors; particularly the TC Chairmen and Ward Councilors of Oyi and Ayamelum federal constituencies.

My greatest commendation goes to all ANAMBRA indigenes especially those who despite all odds continued to be patriotic. There's no gainsaying that the hallmark of democracy is the participation of the people especially those from the grassroot.

To the newly-confirmed Chairmen, you must note that the conclusion of your screening process marks the beginning of real governance which has been activated. It is now time for hard work and keying into the agenda of Mr. Governor. It is now your responsibility to discharge your part of the social contract which you committed to doing wittingly or unwittingly.

As you settle down to the business of governance, you must bear in mind that the participation of the people in governance does not end with the euphoria of office. The people must be carried along and given the opportunity to have a say.

Finally, I congratulate the National Chairman of our party, Barrister Sylvester Ezeokenwa for providing leadership and direction for our great party, the All Progress Grand Alliance. 

I congratulate the State Chairman of our Party, Mr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, the Party executives, leaders and all loyal members of our party at the local government and ward levels for the great job that has climaxed to what we have today.

Once again, I congratulate all the newly screened and confirmed Local Government Chairmen and wish you all a successful stay in office.

Anambra East Council of Traditional Rulers Suspends Igwe Alex Edozieuno, the Traditional Ruler of Mkpu Nando Aguleri-Otu for Two Years With particular reference to the above subject matter, I am obliged to respond to this malicious and unguarded news making round both the conventional and social media news platforms suggesting that HRM Igwe Sir Benneth Izuchukwu Emeka JP (Oke-ebo II of Umueri) was suspended from Anambra East Council of Traditional Rulers for a period of one year, by the Traditional Ruler of Mkpu Nando Aguleri-Otu, Igwe Alex Edozieuno. Ordinarily, we wouldn't have responded to this news if not for the numerous calls by well-meaning and respected individuals in Anambra State, both home and abroad.
