Chigozie
Awka,
The traditional ruler of Umueri, His Royal Majesty Igwe Sir,
Benneth Emeka JP (Oke-ebo II of Umueri) has threatened legal action against Omoyele
Sowore the publisher of Sahara Reporters Online News Media.
Recall that the online news media had published an allegation
of financial misappropriation against the Traditional Ruler of Mkpunando Enugu-Otu
Aguleri, Igwe Alex Edozieuno, but placed the picture of HRM Igwe Sir Benneth
Emeka JP (Oke-ebo II of Umueri) instead of the picture Igwe Alex Edozieuno.

This singular act brought uproar which led to the reaction
from Igwe Ben Emeka through his Secretary and Media Aid Mr. Tochukwu H.
Chidebelu (aka Tochi Henry). In a petition signed on behalf of Igwe Ben Emeka and
made available to the media; Mr. Tochi Henry called on Sahara Reporters to as a
matter of Urgency retract the false representation of Igwe Ben Emeka’s picture
in that publication or face legal actions. Among other demands included a
public apology by Sahara Reporters which must be published in national dailies
within 72 hours.
Our correspondents however learned that though Sahara Reporters
within 24 hours reacted to the demand and pulled down the image of Igwe Ben
Emeka and replaced it with another image of people demonstrating, however,
Sahara Reporters have failed to render any public apology since then.
