Re : Purported Suspension of Igwe Benneth Emeka ,JP( Oke-Ebo 2 of Umueri)

Stories on the purported suspension of our revered traditional ruler,His Royal Majesty, Igwe Sir Benneth Emeka, JP, Oke-Ebo II of Umueri have gone virile lately.

The man behind this campaign of calumny is Igwe Alex Edozieuno, the traditional ruler of Mkpunando Aguleri, a small part of Aguleri Otu. His grouse was that Igwe Umueri protested against the idea of someone else -another traditional ruler from outside Otu-Ocha breaking kola nut at Otu-Ocha stadium where the Anambra State Governor, Chief Dr Willie Obiano had come on January 29, 2019 to campaign for APGA political aspirants.

This is to categorically state that Igwe Umueri, Sir Benneth Emeka ,J P is not suspended by any one or body. As a matter of fact, Igwe Alex Edozieuno lacks the locus to suspend a traditional ruler who is superior to him in every material particular. While Igwe Benneth Emeka is a legitimate traditional ruler duly recognized by the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Law, Alex Edozieuno is not really and truly a traditional ruler because he is only claiming to be on the stool of an infinitesimal portion of Aguleri.

The traditional Ruler of Aguleri, Igwe Christopher Idigo, Ogalagidi, was well known to everyone. Since the Anambra State Government has not created autonomous communities unlike whatv is the case in our neighbouring states (Imo and Abia for instance), Alex Edozieuno has no locus to parade himself as a genuine traditional ruler in the first place. If he is not a genuine royal father, how can he head Anambra East traditional rulers ? Which law recognizes Anambra East Traditional Rulers Council? How can one whose stool is suspect, suspend a royal father whose throne is recognized by Anambra State Government, one who is a member of the Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers for that matter?

The public should discountenance the unfounded and false claims of Alex Edozieuno whose antecedents and escapades are well known even beyond Anambra State.

Anambra East Council of Traditional Rulers Suspends Igwe Alex Edozieuno, the Traditional Ruler of Mkpu Nando Aguleri-Otu for Two Years With particular reference to the above subject matter, I am obliged to respond to this malicious and unguarded news making round both the conventional and social media news platforms suggesting that HRM Igwe Sir Benneth Izuchukwu Emeka JP (Oke-ebo II of Umueri) was suspended from Anambra East Council of Traditional Rulers for a period of one year, by the Traditional Ruler of Mkpu Nando Aguleri-Otu, Igwe Alex Edozieuno.
